Facility management for professionals - at DB Schenker

10.000 m2. A huge area that LOOOM scanned at DB Schenker's Langkampfen site in Tyrol within just 1 day. The result: a photorealistic 3D model of the premises, which provides all the important information for optimised facility management in the company: Machines, air conditioning systems, escape routes, maintenance reports, documentation and much more. 

The Project


DB Schenker is not only a large player in international transport - the individual branches and their warehouses also have enormous dimensions. They not only require perfect logistics, but also effective facility management. In cooperation with LOOOM, DB Schenker perfected its facility management at the Langkampfen site in Tyrol and now has a detailed overview and transparency of the premises with an area of more than 10,000 m2.

The LOOOM team used the indoor mapping scanner to create a digital replica of the interiors. Based on many millions of measuring points (XYZ coordinates), a 3D model was created which shows the detailed actual state in the form of high-resolution panoramic images: Machines, air conditioners, escape routes, fire extinguishers and much more. In addition, all technical test reports, documentation, inventory reports, repairs, maintenance reports, etc. were stored directly in the virtual model.

The responsible facility manager now has all relevant information directly available in the browser. Maintenance and work orders can be linked and shared with responsible colleagues or external companies. The To Do's can be called up live, all responsibilities clarified - this saves a lot of time and money. In addition, directions to points of interest can be created for guests, mechanics or new employees. And even if the facility manager is not at home, colleagues still have all the important information at their disposal.

  • The own asset database (e.g. fire extinguisher) was connected to the virtual environment. The actual condition is reliably documented.
